The Philosophical Park
Walk along the footpath marked by tiles quoting philosophical aphorisms from western and eastern thinkers.
The Philosophical Park is located just opposite Da Gelsomina, and is the brainchild of Swedish economist Gunnar Adler Karlsson, who lives nearby. This spot is surrounded by Mediterranean woods and has a pretty path lined with tiles painted with aphorisms and quotes from philosophers throughout history. Stop in for a meditative stroll while reflecting on the messages and relaxing in the pristine natural surroundings.

Anacapri is often called "the upper town" by islanders on Capri, as it is located at a higher elevation than the town of Capri. To reach Anacapri, you must travel a steep but picturesque road above the coast. There are frequent and punctual local mini.buses which run between the towns of Capri and Anacapri.
The Center
The center of Anacapri runs along Via Giuseppe Orlandi, a pedestrian street where locals and visitors stroll past artisan workshops, boutiques selling local products, historic churches, traditional restaurants, and friendly cafés.
Villa San Michele
The Swedish physician and philosopher Axel Munthe built this stunning villa on one of the most panoramic points on the island, and today it houses his collection of archeaological artifacts and has one of the most beautiful gardens in Italy.
Mount Solaro Chairlift
The chairlift from the center of Anacapri takes passengers to the peak of Mount Solaro in just 12 minutes. This is the highest point on Capri and boasts a stunning panoramic view over the Gulf of Naples and Salerno.
The Blue Grotto
This sea cave glows turquoise due to the play of light through its water, and is the most famous attraction on Capri. Located near Anacapri, the grotto can be reached by land from Anacapri, or by sea via tour boats departing from Marina Grande.
Villa Damecuta
The archaeological remains of one of the twelve villas the Roman Emperor Tiberius' had constructed on Capri is located along the road to the Blue Grotto. The site is surrounded by a shady pine grove perfect for a stroll.
Walking and Hiking
With comfortable shoes and map in hand, you can explore the entire island of Capri on foot. This is the best way to discover its most beautiful hidden corners.
Mount Solaro and Cetrella
Walk down from the peak of Mount Solaro, stopping along the way at the Cetrella Hermitage in the pretty valley overlooking the Faraglioni where there is a small chapel to visit.
Natural Arch and Pizzolungo
A walking trail which skirts the entire southeastern coast of the island, passing the Faraglioni and arriving at the Matermania Cave, where ceremonies dedicated to the god Mitra were once held.
